Inara Serra
"Blue Lengha Choli "

While searching for sari fabric, I began to learn about various clothing styles in India. One particular syle is the Lengha Choli, which I realized is what several of Inara's outfits seem to be based on. This knowledge has become invaluable to me as I search for patterns and fabrics that are appropriate for this kind of ensemble.

First, let me say that yes I am a sucker for detail work. I am also a little crazy, but we knew this already with all the hand detail I put into Marie Antoinette. I was enchanted with this outfit the moment I saw it and when I found the auction pictures with close ups of all the detail work (although half the pictures are out of focus), I knew I just HAD to do it! This will be a long ongoing project for me, and I hope to have it finished for Dragon*Con this year. Hand sewing all those details onto it will take a lot of time, and I am trying to be as close to accurate as possible. Wish me luck ;)
